About Doulas

A doula is a non-medical member of a birth team who assists a woman and her partner before, during, and after childbirth by providing information, physical assistance, and emotional support. A doula offers education,  massage, visualization and relaxation techniques, and advocacy (just to name a few). The provision of continuous support during labour by doulas is associated with improved maternal and fetal health.
